Formatting in Windows - Manual Method
Users of Windows devices can use another manual formatting option as follows by inserting the USB drive into any Windows computer.
It is usually done in 3 steps, and the initial step is to remove the old partitions from the USB drive.

- Click start, open search textbox, and type "devmgmt.msc" and press enter
- It opens device manager. Select the "Disk Drives" and expand it
- It would throw USB drive, double-click it, and open the properties box
- Click the "Policies" tab in the box
- Select the Removal policy from "Quick Removal" to "Better Performance."
- Now, press "OK" to start formatting

- Open terminal and type "sudo su"
- Then enter "fdisk –l" and make a note of the USB drive letter
- Again type "fdisk /dev/sdx" (keep in mind that the x should be replaced with the drive letter)
- Enter "d" in the field to delete a partition
- Type "1" and choose 1st partition and give enter
- Type "d" to delete it and to proceed to the next partition
In the second step, users have to create a new partition.
- To make a new partition, type "n."
- Type "P" to make a primary partition and press enter
- The press "1" and make it as 1st partition and give enter
- Give enter and accept the first cylinder
- Give enter and accept the last cylinder
- Type "w" and enter the new partition information for the USB
- Enter "umount /dev/sdx1" (x is replaced by driver letter)
- Write "mkfs.vfat -F 32 /dev/sdx1" (x is again replaced by USB drive letter)
